I feel like you get a pretty good idea of the tone, atmosphere, and direction right from the very first episode, so if you dislike the first episode then I would not continue watching. Yes, the CGI isn't the best, but it's also not the worst I've seen either. The core of this show is this group of random people in an apartment complex trying to survive a sudden monster apocalypse. Hyun, a loner high school student who lost his entire family in a terrible accident, is forced to leave his home and has to face a new reality where monsters are trying to wipe out all of humanity. Now he must fight against all odds to try and race against the clock to save what is left of the human race before it's too late. The series spent most of its budget, with each episode costing $2.7 million.
Principal photography began in September 2019 and filming was completed in February 2020. Lee Bong-ryun as Im Myung-sook, a mother who lost her child when the stroller rolled away from her, causing a truck to collide into it.
Choreographer Kim Seol-jin and contortionist Troy James were chosen to record the monsters' movements through motion capture. It was praised by viewers for its "high-quality visual effects" and "the deep human connections among the characters."
